Vernacular Photography

I have a fondness for old photographs; especially photos that were not taken by professional photographers.  Vernacular photography is a fancy term for photos taken by plain ol' everyday people.  (Which means that most were taken by Mom's with cameras!)  These old photos capture history better than their professional counterparts.  There is no staging, or backdrops, or editorial content.  Just brief, often entertaining, moments caught by people.

Photography itself changes over the years.  Brownies, Kodachrome, Polaroids, and even izone photos have come and gone, but crazy people with cameras will always be around.  If you'd like to learn more, check out Gargantua Photos.  It's a crazy fun site.  Years ago, I made a few purchases from him and he's a straight-up, good guy.
