Carnival Lights

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is going to the "Carnival" this week!  My project celebrates the carnival lights.  I fondly recall going to street carnivals each year when I was a small girl.  After dark, the sleepy mid-western town town became a magical place full of food, fun and colorful lights.  It was a real treat!
Using my Martha Stewart Ornament Template, I created a paper lantern to replicate the atmosphere of old-fashioned carnival lights.  It wouldn't be a lantern without bulbs, so I strung some Christmas wire through stamped light bulbs from the Tim Holtz mini blueprints set.  (The Christmas wire I found in my stash and I don't recall where I got it, or how long it's been there.  I think that the old-fashioned tinsel trim or pipecleaners would look cuter.) I topped it off with some vellum fringe and a bit of polyester trim from the Dear Lizzy collection.
Join in the fun at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  Show us your "Carnival" inspired artwork and you could win a $50.00 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store.  Your entry could also be chosen to be featured in the Designer Spotlight and you could get a cool new badge for your blog!
