French Tile

We're celebrating STAMPtember® at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  And this week we are featuring "Embossed" projects.  I'm not much of an embosser, but every now and then, I do like to use Ultra Thick Embossing Powder (also known as "UTEE" in the stamp world) to create a fun embellishment for a card or scrapbook layout.
Here I used a fun French stamp from Artistic Outpost to create a faux vintage tile.  It's really easy to do.  Just stamp like you normally would with a permanent ink.  Coat the entire project in Versa Mark and sprinkle with UTEE.  Emboss it like you normally would.  Add more UTEE for a second coat.  The project will curl as it cools.  That's okay.  When you bend it back in shape, you'll get some quirky, fun cracks  You can rub distress ink into the cracks for an authentic, aged look.  You can keep adding layers to get a desired thickness.  Don't like the cracks?  Re-melt it!  And don't be afraid to add a bit of glitter to one of your layers. Voila!  An "antique" tile!

Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. During the past 11 years we celebrate rubber stamping in its full glory by giving access to people around the world to a one stop shop. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a STAMPtember® event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media, life documenting, art journaling, and many forms of altering and expressing art.

Be sure to upload your "embossed" project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for a chance to win a $50.00 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Help us celebrate  STAMPtember®.  Show us your favorite embossing. You could be chosen as one of our featured designers!
Happy Stamping!
