Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes...Bookmarks with Paper Tassels

Anything Goes this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This is the perfect time to do those projects that have been on your want-to-do list.
This week, I made Bookmarks with Paper Tassels to send to my daughter-in-law. She is going back to school this Fall to get her Master's Degree. We are very, very proud of her for pursuing her academic goals. But I miss her already!
I hope she likes the bookmarks. They were so fun to make!
The tassels were made in three easy steps:
  1. Using a Fringe Die, or Fringe Scissors, cut a piece of  painted paper about 6 inches long. Leave about half of an inch at the top, so you will be able to roll it.
  2. Tightly roll paper around a toothpick. Remove toothpick and glue end. At this point you can add a decorative strip of paper, or other decoration to tassel top as desired.
  3. Tie floss or thread through a small decorative button. Glue button to tassel with strong clear adhesive. Let dry completely before handling. And that's it!

By the way...the book shown in the photo was research that my son had published during his undergraduate studies. I have absolutely no idea what it means, but I'm proud of him anyway. :)

Anything Goes this week! Link your stamped project to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and your project could win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp. We draw a new winner each week. Your project could also be chosen to be featured in our weekly designer spotlight.

  9. This is another of your projects whose coolness-level prompted me to drag the hubby over to the screen to look. "See?" I said. "Paper tassels! She thought of paper tassels!" I then explained how you are ALWAYS thinking of something innovative. I don't know how you do it week after week, but your creative well must be bottomless!
