Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge: Faux Woodcut Bowls

Happy Monday! Anything Goes for the new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  This week, I took this opportunity to explore creating "faux" wood cuts. I love the look of lino cuts, woodcuts and block printing, but my arthritis would never allow me to carve. I don't get discouraged easily. So, when I saw those Paper Artsy stamps...BAM! I had an idea...
Faux Woodcuts!
I embossed the images with clear embossing powder to let the white paper would show through. The embossing acts like a resist when adding color with watercolors. I then ironed the embossing on to a clean piece of copy paper. The embossing was transferred to the copy paper, leaving a wonderfully smooth, white background. I accented the bowls with pencil sketches to give them a more of an art studio quality.
I am happy with my "Faux" woodcuts that didn't hurt my hands. :)

Let's take a break with a Vintage Travel.
As you know, each month I participate in the Art With Heart Challenge with Eileen Hull. This month, the theme is "Spring Break". The Inspiration Team is previewing Eileen's new Sizzix Vintage Travel line of dies and folders.
This week, I would like to share a few new projects that I created with the new Sizzix 3-D Adirondack Die and the Sizzix Thinlets Banners and Pennants Die Set.

The Sizzix Thinlets Banners and Pennants Die Set is a must-have set for cardmakers. Cute banners and pennants can be made in seconds!
You can add banners to anything!
Isn't the Sizzix 3-D Adirondack Chair adorable? It's made from matboard. Yes, It's literally a paper chair. Wouldn't it be a fun retirement gift? Or make a great placecard holder for a beach-themed party?
Please join our "Spring Break" fun and take the Art with Heart Challenge!
We want this to be a place for everyone to create, inspire and share.  We would love to see what you can do with Eileen Hull’s fabulous products but this is not a requirement.  Use what ever products your artful “heart” desires.  Art is for everyone so come along and share your Art with Heart!

We want you all to create freely there are no rules here, just a few simple guidelines…

2.Include a link to the current Art with Heart Challenge in your post so others can play along too!
3.When linking up your project please include a direct link to your post.
4.You are not required to use Eileen Hull Products in your projects.  However, those who do use Eileen Hull products will be given two entries into the prize draw.

They're amazing artists! And check out THIS Vintage Travel project that I've created; It's a 3-D Scoreboards Vintage Camper! The most original Sizzix Die that you'll ever see!
I've had a lot of fun working with these dies. :) I hope that you've found my latest projects inspiring.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Due Date

This week the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is: "Due Date." Please remember that you can interpret this challenge however you'd like. I've been thinking that it's high time I learn to use my Silhouette Cameo. You might even say that it's overdue....or past my due date.
Anyway....Aside from all the play-on-words weirdness, I really do need to learn to use the Cameo. So... I'm starting out with a simple cut sentiment on a hand stamped background. My background began with acrylic paints in mellon colors. Then I added a few fun stamps. (I love those new stamps from Stampendous!)
Pretty simple, but SUPER fun!

In the Middle: A Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

In the Middle...That's the theme this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I chose to interpret the theme by NOT using the middle.Off-centered image. Off-centered tag hole. A fun change of pace to mix up the composition. A fun thing to mark your place in the middle of a book.
How did I get the image that way? I stamped on a book page and glued some of the pieces to the tag. Pretty simple, but I like the effect.

"A is for..." A Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

It's another alphabet challenge! This week we are inspired by the letter "A" for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I thought of "Air Mail."

I made some funky postcards with some of the new Prima Stamps. I love the fresh new designs as well as the fact that they are reasonably priced. Only $4.99 each! I applied watercolors directly to the stamp and stamped with them instead of inks. This is a method that is not for the faint of heart. You never know how it's going to turn out.
