Stitchy Flower and Leaf Felt Photo Frame

A long time ago, I used to do needle work. Then my hands gave out and I switched to paper crafts. Every now and then I still have an urge to stitch something. Eileen Hull's new Heartfelt line has a group of flower thinlits called Stitchy Flowers & Leaf that's perfect for stitching on...so I couldn't resist!

I used Sizzix Mailable Frame, a retired die, to cut the frame and felt front. I painted the matboard a Sunny Day Yellow and used a soft yellow felt from Benzie Felt.
The flowers were so fun to stitch! Keep in mind that stitching has become difficult, so my stitches aren't as pretty as they used to be. But I still loved doing it, and I'll probably stitch something again real soon!
The photograph is a depression-era picture of my Grandmother and her sisters. From the photo, you can tell that they were poor, but you can also tell that they were happy. And that warms my heart!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  1. I am a fellow hand sufferer Michelle but to me your stitches look so neat and beautiful, it really enhances the flowers and I love the gorgeous colours you chose too. What a beautiful family photo too! Anne x
