Folksong Winter Tales

I'm back again today to share yet another holiday project from Spellbinders  dies. The die set is called "Folksong" and it features this gorgeous folk art bird designed by the Uber-talented Zsoka Marko.

I had so much fun creating this gorgeous feathered friend!
For this card, I used layers of foam adhesive to create dimension. I wanted him to fly right off of the front! For his body, I cut the bird several times. The top, dark layer, I trimmed with detail scissors so that his face and tail would be a contrasting color. I popped up his wing too, creating layer after layer of beautifully die cut paper.

My feathered friend needed a fabulous place to roost, so I stitched the background using the Stitched Petal Diamond Background Die from the Stitchmas Collection. The stitching was completed surprisingly fast since the holes were die cut. I trimmed the white and placed it on top of a red cut background. Twice the fun and half of the effort!

I really loved this project and was honored to be creating with Zsoka's dies.
I'm a huge fan!
