Live Life with a Flourish

This week we are celebrating the "Flourish" at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, and we have all added a flourish, or that "special touch" to our projects.  My son is engaged to a lovely young woman named, Maye.  This project is for her.
I created a silhouette ornament by using The Tim Holtz Silhouette Stamp and Die set.  My flourish can be seen stamped on clear acetate. (The stamp and dies came packaged in a within beautiful clear sheets of heavy-weight, clear packaging.  I used that!)  After cutting two silhouette heads, I arranged them with a bit of black foam tape so that the heads were visible from both sides. (Floating heads!)

The "frame" was cut from the gorgeous wood grain paper in the Crate Paper "Close Knit" pad. When die cutting those, cut two; one for the back and one for the front.  Keep in mind that one of them will need to be cut the "wrong" side up so that they align properly.

Do you live life with a Flourish?  Show us your projects at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and you could be the weekly winner of a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.

Your project could also be chosen to be in our designer spotlight.  Cool, huh?
Happy Stamping!

  10. What a clever idea! I struggle with how to incorporate silhouettes into my pieces, but I adore what you did here! I never would've thought to use clear acetate in the background. Maye is one lucky lady to be inheriting a creative genius as a future mother-in-law!
