midsummer's dream

Mid-Summer is a time of scorching temperatures, time spent by the water drinking lemonade from a Mason jar and family vacations. Are you longing to play with a Farmer’s Market inspired paper line? Planning on stamping into a starry night frenzy? Or are you inspired by Shakespeare? We challenge you to create and share your "Mid-Summer" project with us!
My project was inspired by a romantic old photo I discovered at an antique store. Sadly, there were no names on the back of the photo. It only says, "Hamburg 1927". The people remind me of lovers from a classic Shakespearean play, so I wanted them to be the focus of the project. A simple chipboard frame helped to emphasize them. There are no technique photos this week because this project was created easily. Sometimes simple stamping is the best way to go. Here, I used basic black ink to keep a clean color palette. The flowers were created by embossing on tinted vellum.

How do you interpret this "Mid-Summer's Challenge?" Join us this week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and your project could win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp.  We draw a new winner each week. Your project could also be chosen to be featured in our weekly designer spotlight.

  3. Ohhhh! I love this! I think it's fantastic that you gave new life to this photo and honored the people who are in it. It's so fun to think about their lives and wonder about who they were. You have kept them alive and that is worth every effort. This project is lovely and was very inspiring in many ways.
