Paper Pirate Ship

Ahoy! My paper Pirate Galleon is being shared today on the Echo Park Paper Blog.

To make my ship, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pieces. (Can you imagine cutting the rigging by hand? It makes my fingers hurt just thinking about it!) All except for the Jolly Roger. He is from a metal die that I used to cut with my Sizzix Big Shot. The papers were from the "Pirate Tales" line of papers from Echo Park Paper. I LOVE that gold scalloped paper. Fish, Mermaids...I'm going to need more of that!
This is one of my favorite projects. I loved making it!
When my oldest son was six years old, we had a pirate themed birthday party for him. We were so broke, that I made everything. I made the cake. I made the goodie bags. I made the games. I made a giant treasure map for the floor. We dug for treasure in the sand. (In our living room!) And surprisingly, everyone had a great time! My son just turned thirty, and he still recalls that year as one of his favorite birthdays. When I was working on this project, I remembered making those earlier pirate themed projects and it made me smile. THAT is what crafting is all about. <3

Have a great day!
(and go check out the Echo Park Blog!)
