Summertime...
This week, The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "Summer."

Inspired by soft and earthy woodland colors, this card with matching envelope was created with new Sstamps from the recent Simon Says Stamp Color of Fun Release. Extra leaves were stamped, cut, and tucked inside the card, so that when the card is opened a few leaves will flutter to the floor like a warm Summer breeze.

Misty Memories: A Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Mists and Sprays are popular products to use with your stamping. This week, the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to use a mist or spray along with your stamps. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? It is!

For this project, I used a mist on the background patterned paper to highlight my stamped images. A simple technique that really works! I stamped and embossed the flowers on vellum. I love doing this. It gives me layers that are still light. Simon Says Stamp no longer carries the stamp that I used, but I've linked to a similar stamp below. Both are beautiful!

Mail Art: Pocket Letter

Hello!

I've always been drawn to postmarks, stamps, and postal elements of any kind. So, when Pocket Letters popped up on the scene recently, they really got my attention. I'm relatively new to this form of expression, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I really enjoy being to create miniature pieces that express my varied interests. The individual cards are ATC sized and they fit into a baseball card protective sleeve sheet. These can be found at the dollar store. Yes, they are THAT cheap.  And when folded into thirds, they fit into a standard business sized envelope which is easy to mail. Cool mail? Yes! So much fun!

I'm sure you'll be seeing more of these in the future. It's another fun way to create with supplies.

Note: If you'd like to exchange mailart with me, contact me directly via email and I'll put you on my list. I'm VERY slow about getting mail out....but eventually, I'll get caught up. Or at least I'll have fun trying. :)

X,Y,Z...Zip Codes! A Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Happy Monday! We have a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge today. We're challenging you to use the letters X,Y, or Z. I was inspired by the letter Z and created postcards with "Zip Codes".

No envelope is necessary for these stamped Postcards. Like the appointment reminders from the Doctor's Office, there's plenty of room to write the recipients name on the other side. I love the postal stamps from the Tim Holtz Correspondence set. Another favorite set is the Apothecary Halloween Set. The labels are awesome and I love the script stamp. I use this set all year long!

Postmarked : First Class

Today I'd like to share a project that I have been working on. I signed up for Julie Campbell's "Postmarked" class at Big Picture Classes, and I'm so glad that I did. I've taken Julie's classes before and they are always a treat. She's very thorough as well as professional. This one, Julie transforms a binder into a card organizer. Sounds fun, right? Well....there's more. She teaches how to make an accordian card file that is detachable. It is the coolest thing ever. Seriously, It is. And it's made from scratch! Even my husband was impressed with that one. Check it out. This is my project from the class. Usually I make things for challenges, design team assignments, and gifts. This is all mine. I made for myself. :)

I love that the file stores inside the binder. There's also room for some of my treasured postal ephemera.

Isn't this great? There's even an envelope for my envelopes. She also supplies printables that aren't shown in the photos.

"O" is for....

This week we are inspired by the letter, "O" at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Being that it is currently the month of October, this should be an easy one. But wait! There's more fun "O" words: Owl, Orange, Oval, Outdoors, Odd, Oak, or ORIGAMI? Yes, I chose origami to jazz up an older Snap Binder that I've been using.

As you know, I love using vintage photos and papers and try to incorporate them in my projects when possible. Here, I used an odd vintage photo with a gold rub-on from My Mind's Eye. I incorporated some stamped origami cranes that I made from Mama Elephant stamps.

Isn't glitter a wonderful thing?
