...and the color blue

We've got the January Blues at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog.  No, we're not feeling blue. We're celebrating it! And we have some blue projects to inspire you as well.
When I think of blue, I think of my Mother.  Blue is her favorite color!  I chose blue to create a scrapbook page for my heritage album.  My heritage album is different than most.  Years ago, I spent many years doing genealogy research with noted genealogists, and have amassed an impressive collection of names and dates.  But that's not what I wanted to focus on here.  Census reports and death certificates provide valuable information, but they don't reveal much about the actual person, so in my album, names and dates have been replaced with bits of personal information.  It's also only 8x8 in size, which is perfect for those small vintage photos.
Are you feeling blue?  Celebrate the color and show us your January Blues at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog and you could be the winner of our weekly $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!

  5. I admire your layout and think the sentiment about what Sally loves is so much fun. It reminds me of a high school yearbook and what friends might might write in one.

  21. Love this Michelle. I too have over 3000 names and endless facts and figures from family history research and have finally started to take your approach to telling the stories in scrap form to pass on to future generations. Keep up this great work. Jenny x

  22. This is such a fabulous tribute to your mom! You always bring people to life through your art and I love your philosophies of keeping heritage alive beyond just the names and dates. The patchwork look you created reminded me of my own mom as well and that made it evoke emotion in me, too. That's what real art does, in my opinion: makes us feel. You always do that and that's why I love your projects so much! And on a totally unrelated side note, you are doubly-cool for recognizing my 'Burbs reference! ;)
