I’m back today with another project for the Altenew Educator Certification Program. (AECP)
This class, Easy Ink Blending Techniques, is a level 1 class taught by Amy Lee. I enjoyed watching various techniques as she created in her whimsical, playful style. I made inked background after background all week long. I wanted to ensure that I felt comfortable with the techniques and it’s nice having a colorful stash of backgrounds to create with later! During this process I discovered that I apply ink with a heavier hand than most crafters. I don’t believe that it matters one way or another, but I did think that it was interesting.
With this card, I mixed some Honeydew Glow, Lemonade Stand, and Peachy Keen Fresh Dye Inks with my Mini Blending Brushes to create the ink blended background. I added some tiny ink splatters and topped it off with a sentiment from the Classic Greetings Stamp and Die Set and the floral images from the Nature Blossoms Stamp and Die Set. I really enjoyed using that stamp set and I’m looking forward to using it again.
I made several stamped images using the same stamps and inks. (Leftovers!) So after I completed my 1st card, I created a different card with one of my practice ink blended backgrounds. It was fun to create a completely different card using the same stamped images.
With the second card, I made a fun-old gatefold card with a belly band using a combination of Tickled Pink and Blush Rose for my interior background. Since the card has a darker inside, I mounted the entire card to a standard top folding A2 card base. Now there's room to write a personally note or message when you open the card.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
