Inlaid Die Cutting Techniques

Sometimes men need hugs too. I challenged myself to make a card devoid of hearts, flowers or pinks. This what I created.

I recently took the Altenew online class, Easy Die Cutting Techniques. This class has an abundance of ideas. In lesson 5, inlaid die cutting techniques were discussed and this was my inspiration for my class submission.

I began by cutting a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Cardstock with a diamond striped cover die. (Unfortunately , this Altenew die is no longer available for purchase.) I also used this die to cut from white cardstock and inlaid the gold stripes onto the white. I used another white card panel and ink blended Easy Breezy Fresh Die Ink all over the card. I laid down a LOT of ink for a beautiful vibrant color. After the colored panel was dry, I then die cut the largest leaf spray. I also cut the leaf spray from the Just Leaves set and cut a cover die panel (focusing only one the leaf tips) as well as a white panel and layered them all like a jigsaw. This was so fun!

To emphasize the gold I created a foiled sentiment with Altenew Essential Sentiments. This is my personal favorite sentiment set.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading about my latest card adventures in the AECP program.
Thanks so much!
Michelle
