Stamp and Stencil Fun

I feel like I am the luckiest woman in the world.
I have a wonderful husband, a family that I adore, and a lovely collection of stamps and stencils that allow me to create almost anything. It's been a rough week. Thank goodness for stamping therapy!

I created a scrapbook page this week that features Autumn leaves. I am really enjoying creating leaves this year. These leaves were cut with my Sizzix, colored with distress inks, and embellished with golden shattered circles. The circles were so easy to make with embossing paste and a stencil. I love that golden glow.

I also love my new Waffle Flower alphabet stamps. They have more than one of most letters so that I was able to spell out "Adventure" in its entirety before stamping. I was pretty excited about that. Something only a stamper would understand. ;)

Sparkle

Snow and ice hit the mid-south again this past week. A good time to play with stamps! It's been too long since I've played with the ladies at Unscripted Sketches. I flipped their sketch this week to create a card loaded with sparkle. Rarely will you see a project without distress inks here, but here it is!

I used stamps from the February card kit from Studio Calico and some of the newer embellishments from Maggie Holmes. I adore that doily embossing folder! The bows are from Freckled Fawn.

Wee Work

I like to work on small projects. I have this theory that everyone else does too. Tags appeared years ago.  Then everyone jumped on the ATC bandwagon.  Moo cards soon followed.  Now Project Life cards.  See the pattern?  Good things come in small packages.

Today I would like to post a little project. A "Wednesday Wee Work." Just enough inky fun to get me through the rest of the week. :)  Today I will start with a tag.  I love the new BasicGrey line and I've been playing with stencils and metallics, so this tag is a combination of the two.

Tutterow Challenge

If you’ve ever visited Tammy Tutterow’s blog, then you know she creates amazing projects and intensely wonderful tutorials on Tuesdays.  This week the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge encourages you to be inspired by one of her tutorials or projects and join in the fun this week!

This week my project incorporates Tammy's Pastel Background on Kraft.  You can find the tutorial here.  I switched things up a bit by using different colors as well as a different background stamp.  (With the "Love" tag, I even used a bright pink paper for the background and I still achieved great results!) The paper did curl.  To correct the curling, I sandwiched the completely dry tag between waxed paper and set a heavy book on top of it overnight.  The next morning, the tag looked perfect! Don't you love those gold feathers?  They are from the BasicGrey Persimmon collection. The paper "curls" were created by tightly wrapping a sliver of paper around a pencil.
